Mesotherapy is the process of injecting a cocktail of drugs (vitamins, amino acids, minerals, enzymes) used for medical and aesthetic purposes into the skin or subcutaneous target tissues. The number of injections and applications varies depending on the patient, the purpose of the treatment and the anatomy of the area to be injected.
Mesotherapy was first practiced in France in 1952 by Dr. Michael Pistor. It was recognized as a medical treatment method by the French Academy of Medicine in 1987 and is a widely used medical procedure today. In this method, since the general distribution of drugs in the body is very small, drug-induced side effects are minimized and the regional effect of the drug is increased.
